I recently started a new Instgram account to showcase my film photography so I have been going through a lot of old work. Needless to say I have been posting a lot of images that I shot with my Contax G1. Mostly because the images images I shot with the Contax G1 are so incredibly sharp and colorful. All thanks to the beautiful Carl Ziess lens. Introduced in 1994 the Contax G is the worlds most advanced 35mm rangefinder camera system. That being said this isn't a camera you'll find at a thrift store or flea market for a few bucks. I paid $550 for the body and the 45 mm Planar 2.8 lens. Totally worth the money. There are two versions on this camera, the G1 that I have, and the G2. The G2 model comes with a update to the auto focus system that I wish the G1 had. Maybe I'll upgrade someday, but for now I'm loving the first generation of this camera. The G1 system had a few different lenses, the 28mm f2.8, 45mm f2 and the 90mm f2.8. I defientaly need to start shooting with this beauty way more than I have. Here are some of my favorite images I've capture with this camera. Enjoy!
